Another year had passed since my previous post.
It has been a tough year 2015, to say the least. Making the difficult decision to put my part time degree studies on hold, and committing to two jobs on most days from 8.30am till 1am or later, which can easily hit more than 12 hours per work day.
The consequences of such extended working hours?
1) Very little time for leisure activities
2) Less time spent with family and relatives
3) Feel tired much earlier in the day
And the list could go on further. But I shall keep it to that.
Those who know me at a more personal level, would have known the main reasons why I have been working so hard (which I shall not disclose here due to privacy issues).
Moving forward, I sincerely wish 2016 will be kinder to everyone.
After all, things are only supposed to get better and not worse, no?
Do continue to follow my life stories on my new blog: http://chroniclesofchris89.blogspot.sg/.
Merry Xmas & Happy New Year!
Cheers,
Chris

It's time to breathe fresh air into this 10-year-old personal space of mine once again.
The prevalence of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media has sort of killed my interest in blogging. However, even these get boring after some time when all you see are the same notifications. Game requests and more game requests (if you know what I mean. It does get annoying after awhile).
So, how has the year 2013 and 2014 till date been for me, you may ask.
Well, it hasn't been the best of times, but I'm glad to say that the situation will only get better.
3rd Sept 2013 was the turning point. Because of her, I have quit clubs for good. Because of her, I have decided to settle down, and even submitted an application with her for the recent HDB build-to-order exercise in July 2014 (for Punggol estate).
The list goes on. And it has been 1 year since we got together. I don't know if you are reading this, but if you are, I just wanna say that I could not have asked for anything better. Let us strive to work together for a better future.
I love you till the end of time, Qiao Er. <3

Hi Readers,
Another 5 months have passed since my previous post.
Many events had occurred during this period but I shall only highlight the more notable ones as usual:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) Change of jobs.
So I thought it might not be tough to stay on at StarHub's call centre for the next 3 years, with the 2 years of experience since 1st September 2010 under my belt.
WRONG.
The cases just kept stacking up on a day-to-day basis and it came to a point that I do not foresee any satisfactory resolution in the future.
Hence, the decision to leave on 19th October, and almost immediately (4 days later to be exact), I have taken up a new assignment at CPG Facilities Management as a CSO.
So far so good, less stressful although there are challenges to overcome as per any new job.
In addition, I have also taken up a part time position at the new Chatime bubble tea cafe in Suntec Tower Two since 2nd November,
(2) 2nd time loss of iPhone 4 (Yes, I was that careless)
That was on the fateful night of 7th July. iPhone 4 32GB black.
Couldn't even recall how I misplaced the phone this time, probably had too much of a drink that night and got freaking wasted.
Understandably, my parents were very furious and I didn't talk to them for one entire day.
Since then I had only gone clubbing once in early September, and also purchased ANOTHER iPhone 4 32GB white at one of the second hand mobile phone reseller shops near Hougang Mall @ $470.
Too used to the iOS interface to the extent that I couldn't live without an iPhone after a week, lol.
(3) Driving lessons!
After months of hesitation and reluctance, in late August I finally made the decision to enrol for driving lessons.
Done at ComfortDelgro Driving Centre.
So far, I have attended three lessons but have postponed the subsequent lessons till further notice due to financial constraints.
(4) Universal Studios Singapore Round 4 and 5
This was more recent, on 22nd and 26th October..
Was there with my AuditionSEA friend Jasmine and two different groups of friends on the two dates.
The second day was more fun and exciting to be honest - Halloween Horror Nights 2.
And the list goes on.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As 2012 draws to a close, it's time to reflect on the positive and negatives for the year, and the action plan in place to improve on the negatives.
Felt that I had wasted too much time and money in the past 18 months or so, hence the decision to take up 2 jobs simultaneously so that there will be sufficient funds for further schooling within the next 1-2 years.
It is still not too late to catch up on lost time. With determination and discipline, anything is possible.
But ultimately, action speaks louder than words.
Yours sincerely,
Chris. (:

Back again after a 3-month hiatus.
Updated the blog playlist with the more recent club/dance tunes~
You might be wondering how I'm able to post now amidst my busy days at StarHub.
Well, unfortunately I'm still on the road to recovery from a nasty chicken pox outbreak since 25th May 2012.
My mum insists that there should not be any eggs, chicken, or soy-based products like peanuts, soya bean milk etc. included in my diet during this period.
Both doctors whom I had consulted - on 25th May and 4th June (had to extend the medical leave for another week as the outbreak has not fully healed on my body and arms in particular) - mentioned that is a myth and just need to consume more fluids and foods rich in Vitamin C, so that the skin will be able to heal faster.
Of course, mum didn't believe a single thing of what the doctors said, so it shall continue to be plain foods until 10th June. D:
Hence, with this extension, I'm proud to announce that the full 14 days' entitlement for Medical Leave has been fully utilised this year.
4th & 5th March - Didn't feel too well after a night out. No prizes for guessing the venue.
2nd & 3rd May - Thanks to some inconsiderate fellow, my left forehead needed 4 stitches in the wee hours of the morning at SGH Accident & Emergency department. Full story further below.
23rd May - Probably the early symptom of chicken pox. Mild fever 37.9 degrees Celsius. MC for that day only.
Then the current stretch from 25th May till 10th June due to confirmed chicken pox.
That's a total of 12 working days, hence no choice but to eat into my Annual Leave entitlement. :(
To be frank, I feel bad just by visualising all my colleagues slogging so hard in office.
With the upcoming EURO 2012 and PC Show 2012 coming up, the call load is surely gonna be CRAZY.
No thanks to the MC coverage, I'll not be able to assist in contributing to any overtime until 11th June onwards.
Oh well, guess I shall just focus on recovering from the illness completely.
And once I'm back in office on 11th June, expect a fully charged and energised Chris Chan.
Now moving on to the story as abovementioned.
Well, the incident happened on 30th April (or should I say 1st May as it was already past midnight?) at approximately 1.15-1.20am.
Location - Club Shake, there was an Eurotechno event ongoing.
Basically I was there with about 6-7 friends, was seated and chilling at one of the long tables nearer to the bar area.
Out of nowhere, I felt something hard coming into contact with my left forehead, and within minutes the injured area started bleeding profusely.
Could be a lightstick but it doesn't matter already.
Was brought out of the club by the staffs there immediately.
I have to say, the on-spot first aid rendered was well done and I had no complaints about it.
The staff also gave me $200 for medical treatment at the nearest hospital.
Cabbed over to SGH A&E for the necessary, required 4 stitches and 3 days MC.
#storyend
To that inconsiderate fellow who threw the object right into my forehead: May karma come back to haunt you one day.
This month's pay check is gonna be so much lower. July's also.
At this rate, I have no idea how to save up for August's birthday celebration..
Current plan remains unchanged though.
Since 21st August falls on a Tuesday, the best date will be the previous Sat 18th.
Alternatively, it is possible to have a belated celebration on 22nd but most people would rather choose to celebrate in advance.
Most probably will invite only a few closer clubbing kakis along (Sorry, on budget now hence cannot afford to spend $500-$600 on drinks in a single night).
Venue: PH / Zirca, subject to changes.
Signing off here, will update again as soon as possible.
Enjoy the updated songs. (:

This is the first time I'm posting directly from my iPhone 4.
Time flies indeed.
It's been 16 months since I had joined the green family called Starhub.
And it has been a fulfilling experience so far.
Moving forward, my resolutions for 2012 are relatively straightforward:
(1) Class 3 license
(2) Enrol into a part time degree course at a reputable private university
(3) Save at least 6-7k by end of this year.
All the best to my family, relatives and friends as well in the year ahead. :D

Didn't head to USS on the 8th as my colleague had forgotten she was already meeting another friend on that day.Just as well though, since it was a rainy day and the entrance fee would have been wasted. The past three nights were awesome.Accompanied three different groups of friends to club the night away~-----------------------------------------------------17 Nov - Smash #2 mixed age party at Zirca/Groove.Went to this event with my cousin Amanda, her boyfriend Xavier and a couple of her friends.I swear, the crowd level was INSANE.Didn't manage to enter the club eventually and left at 2.45am as I had to work the next day, while the rest managed to enter around 3am.Which to me doesn't make much sense.$25 for two hours of grinding? Count me out please.Would prefer regular Wed/Fri/Sat nights or spend the money chilling at pubs/bars instead.-----------------------------------------------------18 Nov - Chilling out at Rebel/Zirca.It was a last minute decision.Yiling suddenly texted me while I was at work around 7pm, mentioning she had a bad day at work and wishes to go unwind.Joined her and boyfriend Derrick, had Mac at Block 684 then cabbed down. The queue was long but thank goodness it wasn't as bad as the night before..Entered from Rebel at 11.30 and stayed around until 2am (nope we didn't dance though) before cabbing home.-----------------------------------------------------19 Nov - Partying hard at Powerhouse.Rotted at home till 3pm+, then went over to Central Grove condo for my ex-StarHub colleague, Yuki's birthday buffet.About 20 friends came in total, all of whom is my first time meeting.Decent food but the security guard made quite a lot of noise when he came over to inspect the multi-function room at 10.Lol. Well he also has a job to perform.. Can't help it.Eventually a total of 10 people headed down to PH, reached around 11.45.Surprisingly the queue was kinda short, given that it was Supafly night and DJ Kzee was in the house. The music from 12-2am always never fail to disappoint. Most of the Top 40 hits were played during this period.Joined Yuki, Junior, Pearlyn and Louis (or Lewis? Not sure of spelling) for supper at the nearby Food Republic Beer Garden around 3.30.The minced meat noodle is decent though a tad pricey ($4.50).Shared cab home with Junior and Pearlyn, both of them also happen to stay in Hougang.-----------------------------------------------------Just next week on 25 Nov there is Zirca's 3rd anniversary party. However I will most probably give that a miss, chionging overtime for the SITEX roadshow period from 24th to 27th, where high call volumes are expected. There has to be a balance between work and play, otherwise I seriously doubt it is possible to save even $5k by Chinese New Year in Jan 2012.Okay shall have lunch and take a good rest for today. No more clubbing until mid-December. (:

Tomorrow I'm intending to drop by Universal Studios Singapore once again.
Third visit in four months. Haha.
Still remembered the very first time when I went there with Yiling in July, after taking the Battlestar Galatica rollercoaster (Human side), I ended up nauseous for much of the day and only took the Cylon ride in the late afternoon...
Provided the weather is perfect, targetting to ride both Human and Cylon, as well as Mummy's Revenge, at least five times each.
Hope I won't suffer from a heart attack after all the adrenaline rushes. (:
