Back again after a 3-month hiatus.
Updated the blog playlist with the more recent club/dance tunes~
You might be wondering how I'm able to post now amidst my busy days at StarHub.
Well, unfortunately I'm still on the road to recovery from a nasty chicken pox outbreak since 25th May 2012.
My mum insists that there should not be any eggs, chicken, or soy-based products like peanuts, soya bean milk etc. included in my diet during this period.
Both doctors whom I had consulted - on 25th May and 4th June (had to extend the medical leave for another week as the outbreak has not fully healed on my body and arms in particular) - mentioned that is a myth and just need to consume more fluids and foods rich in Vitamin C, so that the skin will be able to heal faster.
Of course, mum didn't believe a single thing of what the doctors said, so it shall continue to be plain foods until 10th June. D:
Hence, with this extension, I'm proud to announce that the full 14 days' entitlement for Medical Leave has been fully utilised this year.
4th & 5th March - Didn't feel too well after a night out. No prizes for guessing the venue.
2nd & 3rd May - Thanks to some inconsiderate fellow, my left forehead needed 4 stitches in the wee hours of the morning at SGH Accident & Emergency department. Full story further below.
23rd May - Probably the early symptom of chicken pox. Mild fever 37.9 degrees Celsius. MC for that day only.
Then the current stretch from 25th May till 10th June due to confirmed chicken pox.
That's a total of 12 working days, hence no choice but to eat into my Annual Leave entitlement. :(
To be frank, I feel bad just by visualising all my colleagues slogging so hard in office.
With the upcoming EURO 2012 and PC Show 2012 coming up, the call load is surely gonna be CRAZY.
No thanks to the MC coverage, I'll not be able to assist in contributing to any overtime until 11th June onwards.
Oh well, guess I shall just focus on recovering from the illness completely.
And once I'm back in office on 11th June, expect a fully charged and energised Chris Chan.
Now moving on to the story as abovementioned.
Well, the incident happened on 30th April (or should I say 1st May as it was already past midnight?) at approximately 1.15-1.20am.
Location - Club Shake, there was an Eurotechno event ongoing.
Basically I was there with about 6-7 friends, was seated and chilling at one of the long tables nearer to the bar area.
Out of nowhere, I felt something hard coming into contact with my left forehead, and within minutes the injured area started bleeding profusely.
Could be a lightstick but it doesn't matter already.
Was brought out of the club by the staffs there immediately.
I have to say, the on-spot first aid rendered was well done and I had no complaints about it.
The staff also gave me $200 for medical treatment at the nearest hospital.
Cabbed over to SGH A&E for the necessary, required 4 stitches and 3 days MC.
#storyend
To that inconsiderate fellow who threw the object right into my forehead: May karma come back to haunt you one day.
This month's pay check is gonna be so much lower. July's also.
At this rate, I have no idea how to save up for August's birthday celebration..
Current plan remains unchanged though.
Since 21st August falls on a Tuesday, the best date will be the previous Sat 18th.
Alternatively, it is possible to have a belated celebration on 22nd but most people would rather choose to celebrate in advance.
Most probably will invite only a few closer clubbing kakis along (Sorry, on budget now hence cannot afford to spend $500-$600 on drinks in a single night).
Venue: PH / Zirca, subject to changes.
Signing off here, will update again as soon as possible.
Enjoy the updated songs. (:
those memories. 01:04
