implication : unable to play 8 key modes that require numpad .
but that doesn't matter .
cuz my specialist mode is the couple dance mode .

as you can see from the screenie , weekdays i'm at free server channel 3 .
but on weekends i'll be at channel 5 or 6 .

had gp prelims today .
well , the essay was a piece of cake .
i attempted the first question .
"The efforts to save the environment are doomed. Discuss."
i'm expecting a minimum C grade from here (at least 28/50) .
of course , not all's smooth-sailing .
compre was a tough nut to crack .
especially the summary , which i only wrote 99 words where the word limit was 120 . -__-
but the good thing is i managed to finish my application question .
first time ever under exam conditions okay .
hahas .
i'm expecting minimum pass for compre (22.5/50 or more) .

so , one subject down and four more to go .
up next tmr : econs essay paper .
confirm die .
even after reading through the model essays i still catch no ball .
haiz .
think i'll just anyhow whack like how i did for gp .
hoping to get 30% (and even that seems impossible to achieve) .

i better go read the essays again and try to absorb some things .

as i've repeated countless times before , i think i'm gonna flunk all the papers , including gp .
but i'll just give my best shot regardless of the result .

anyways , mapling today was at parking lot .
but only party trained for an hour or so .
there was this female ranger (level 70) that didn't get too pleased after she got kicked from our party .

[at this point i've also told the rest i got to go]

the party leader , a hermit (whose IGN i shan't reveal) tried to explain that her slot was only temporary .
but the way he put his explanation across apparently pissed the ranger off .
and she started saying things like "you look down on low lvl" .
following that the two of them played KS for two minutes .
the ranger eventually left saying "bye loser :D" .

you may say i'm a busybody , but i went to private msg the ranger afterwards , telling her that my telling the rest i got to go was just an excuse .
in actual fact , i didn't get too pleased with the way the hermit handled the situation , which was like clearly discrimination against the bowman classes ?

she appeared confused by what i said initially , after which she began to lament to me about how difficult it was for rangers her level to continue to have the motivation to train , since most people tend not to party with rangers/snipers .
so i told her not to give up so easily , etc etc .
and then she told me the hermit guy private messaged her , telling her to watch out .
i was like -__- , it's no wonder hermits in general leave a negative impression on the rest nowadays .

well , i suppose the maple world isn't a bed of roses .

eventually we became buddies .
that's just my way to keep a look out for potential cyber bullies that resort to means like ks/threatening/mass defaming and lend assistance where necessary .
but not to exacerbate the situation of course .

the two of them were in aj this morning for the live recording of "good morning singapore" , a channel 8 morning show .
when my gp class ended , the recording had also just finished .
so , add two other like-minded guys into the mix and tada ~



honestly speaking , shawn and keely looked better close-up compared to on television .
lols .
anyways , superstar frenzy aside , today was a rather short day .
lessons ended at 11.45 .
was never in the mood for any of the lessons .
haha .
okays .
i go study geog globalisation le . *faint*


turned eighteen today . nobody really remembered it though .
lols .
only two of my outside sch frens did wish me happy birthday via sms .
and i really appreciated that .
as was the case for previous years , dinner tonight was a congregation of most of my relatives at the coffee shop downstairs .
i received $160 in total plus a new nike watch .
but only could take away $50 in the end cos i had to return part of the dinner costs , which amounted to over $226 . >.<



well , i finally managed to chiong to level 100. (:
sense of accomplishment is strong as all this while it's been me and only me who has been training this character . (ie. single user pride)
i've now moved on to training on grims full-time , as aforementioned in my previous post .
didn't get any rare equip drops today though .
sigh .
getting a kage from grims requires some luck after all .

now that my target has been achieved , i may (or rather , must) focus more on studies from now on .
but i guess my prelims results will still be a foregone conclusion ? -_-


levelled to 99 yesterday morning .
searched in vain for armory slots this morning though .
and i died once to that female boss .
touch damage 8463 .

another player seemed to be looking for armory slots too .
i eventually trained with her on bone fish (deep sea gorge 1) .
and she's now my buddy too .

and now i declare that grim phantom watches will be the monsters that i'll be facing from now till the rest of my maple life . >.<
i went to try soloing them after party training at bone fish .
bought a ribboned pig headband before chionging .
and the +50 life bonus from the headband proved to be crucial .

grims' max physical damage : 1252 (invincible n bless on)
my total HP without/with headband : 1244/1294 .

therefore , with the headband equipped , i'm proud to announce that i can train full-time at grims without having to activate magic guard and burn pots like mad .
pictures of my grimming adventure will be up soon .
my heal damage against the monsters still suck though .
and i've yet to master the shining ray+heal combination .
currently at 30% .
all my buddies are telling me to faster chiong to 100 .
keke . guys , don't be so impatient.
once i've moved on to grims things will be quite fast (i hope) .

it's really been quite awhile since i last updated .
anyways .
to date it's just 15 days to go before my prelims start .
but i seem to be mapling even longer hours .
the weekend that just passed , i mapled for like 16 hrs .
and for the past three days i also played at least 3 hrs .
then end up all my revision never do .
sian .
maple can really become so addictive like cigarettes , it's scary .
i'd decided against using 2x experience coupon last sat .
and probably will use it on one day of the sept hols .

achieved level 98 on sat (11/8) .
just that little more effort to that coveted triple digit number .
now , for a brief update on the mapling experiences for the past three days ...

.: mon 13/8 :. [time online 1500 - 2200]
~ trained at singapore map "mysterious path 3" .
~ at night , went over to parking lot to help train my buddy .
~ welcomed new buddy - yume86 . she's a pleasant person to work with .

.: tue 14/8 :. [time online 1500 - 2000]
~ more of subordinate D @ parking lot .
~ but this time round , my party members didn't even allow me to go afk for dinner .
~ as a result , i had to eat and HS and heal at the same time .
~ i acknowledge that (for seasoned maplers) this wouldn't seem like a big deal , but i just couldn't cope .
~ when i told them i'd be going at 1900 , they whined like there's no end to beg me to stay .
~ being the soft-hearted guy that's me , i obliged and stayed on for another hour .
~ this was probably one of the worst partying experiences i've ever had since i migrated there from coolies at late 8x .
~ seriously . i don't wish to end up so addicted like some people , who would complain like there's no end once the party priest has to go just because he/she wants to maximise exp gain from his/her 2x exp coupons .

.: today 15/8 :. [time online 1400 - 1900]
~ finally , it's back to armory once more .
~ secured an empty map at channel 1 (quite lucky i suppose) .
~ hoped for ice mages to come . but instead came a dragon knight . somemore he only level 91 . can't even achieve 100% hit rate against bains with my bless skill .
~ afterwards came a helmed level 128 hermit . faster clearance but still not as good compared to ice mages . (not that i don't appreciate his effort . i still do .)
~ when male boss spawned it took ages to get rid of him . nobody really took the initiative .
~ the dk died twice , logged out later . so i just expelled him from the party . the hermit left shortly after too .
~ and finally , the ice mages came . eventually three stayed . level 133 , 93 and 107 respectively . and my exp gain shot up to over 16% per hour . thanks for the party guys . (:
~ at 80% i left to take a breather . and it was known to me that female boss has spawned in channels 1 and 10 at parlor map .
~ implication : i decided against going back to armory map , since female boss's (aka anego's) slapping attack could do as much as 16k damage and i didn't want to risk losing a precious 5% exp that i'd previously earned .
~ so i returned to parking lot . my party this time is sort of quiet , unlike the "class of monday" which had seemingly loads to chat about .
~ the "cold" look of the party leader , a female 7x hermit , didn't help either . she's a 24-hour chiongster by the way . not my cup of tea . -__-
~ welcomed another buddy , skylineDK . and unfortunately , he was one of the two who expressed displeasure the day before when i told the party i had to go . and no , i don't use HS bot and will never use it .
~ oh well . let's just see how things progress in the coming weeks .

currently at 89% .
will almost certainly level by friday .
and try to breach 100 by the end of next week .
okay .
back to studies and reality for now .
there's essay timed practice tmr on role of government .
and i haven't even studied for it .
then again , it's too late to prepare for it now .
so might as well sleep early .

officially level 97 on 4.40pm today .
as aforementioned in the previous post , armory is now my newly preferred training ground and will probably still be until i'm level 105++ .
today's session was the reign of the ice mages .
with three ice mages , my exp gain reached 22%/hour .
even faster than ytd's session with a chief bandit and knight .
anyways .
i didn't attend school today as i lost 75% of my voice .
spent $25 seeing the doctor and getting the medicine .
for the next fortnight , no fried or spicy food for me .
sian .
just gotta bear with it .
okay .
i got to continue studying for tmr's geog litho tests .
for both DRQ and essay . >.<


parking lot just got more boring by the day .
so i decided to switch over to armory for faster exp .
in fact , i was already training there from last night .
this map consists of bains .
and occasionally male boss on the right near the tank area .
last night's session was with a knight and a chief bandit .
i died once . T_T
didn't move away from the boss monster on time .
touch dmg 3.3k , and i didn't on my magic guard on time .
which means instant KO . diao .
despite the high risk of dying , i went back anyway .
my party members still needed me for holy symbol and heal .

this morning , more bain slaying at armory .
i waited quite some time before ppl came to the map .
about 30 mins i think .
eventually there were three attackers , two ice mages and a knight .
and the wait was worth it .
cuz i gained 18% exp in two hours .
which was very , very fast for my level .
after which one of my friends called me back to parking lot .
and training slowed to 6%/hour .
reasonable , but slow nevertheless .
and in fact i make more money at armory than pl .

that's the end of my brief maple update for today .
currently lvl 96 , 65% .


singapore map was finally released in maple today .
i have yet to go explore though .
like what's the big deal about pixeliated singapore anyway ?
wanted to gain abit more exp first .
so i went to parking lot .
initially i was alone .
which was surprising since PL is usually crowded at night .
then a ranger came in .
followed by a sniper and ice mage .
they were all level 8x btw .
then at around 10.15pm ~ rollback occurred?!?!
kns .
i think it only affected aquila players .
me and my partymates included of course .
so i lost about 3% exp as a result .
wasn't that much of a heartache though .
went back again 15 minutes later .
both the same ranger and sniper joined back.
together with another ice mage .
trained till 94% before leaving . (zZz time -.-)

anyways .
considering that the few hours after a relatively major patch (this one was 24 mb) are usually packed with people particularly in aquila , this screenshot taken at 9.30 proves otherwise .
oh well .
perhaps it's a school day so there were much fewer ppl .



i've also become more wary to trading fame nowadays .
because of some bad experiences over the past few weeks .
basically just encountered some fame scammers .
but this lady with 400+ fame prob wasn't one of them .
