back~

the past week has been relatively hectic. particularly on sunday. had my gold star swimming exam at toa payoh swim complex. this was my third shot at the award. the previous two times, i got the place/time wrong so missed out on the test. but no mistake this time. and obviously, i made the cut. my parents seemed rather taken aback that i'd passed the test though. always so sceptical. whatever.

rushed home after the test for a short rest before meeting my friend at bugis. she wanted my secondary sch other sch papers so she could practise for her Os. then i visited the newly renovated VirtuaLAN centre. nice place, though the environment seems dark compared to say, PCBunk. currently, the former is offering promotional rates of *gasp* $1/hour. damn cheap la. mapling here for 4 hours is equivalent to 1 hour at PCBunk =.= anyway i trained for 3 hours there. levelled again. now just ONE level to third job. keke. promos coming in one week but like i said before, i cant really be bothered by it.

this week: meeting one of my penpals at, you guessed it, bugis again. on 28 sept. really looking forward to this outing cos it's perhaps the last chance to chill out before the promos.


sometimes i wonder whether studying so hard can benefit you at the end of the day. is it worth it facing so much stress trying to absorb the things you've learnt for the day?

not that i wanna drop out of school, but since the september holidays i haven't been studying one bit.

too much gaming is one reason. but im starting to get tired of studying too. all the sacrifices you make just to excel in the exams - they just don't balance out. in the context of economics theory, the opportunity cost of studying far exceeds the benefits it brings.

my schoolmates still remain hardworking as ever. i feel glad for them. at least they know what's right for them, unlike myself. can't even set my priorities right. kinda sad case actually. a 17-year-old young adult who doesn't know how to think for himself. a burden to society.
