yesterday-;

Bedtime stories! :D
It's been a long time, over eight months, since I last watched a movie.
Hence I met one of my friends at jurong point to watch the abovementioned after lunch and well, it was a relatively entertaining film with some weird effects at certain parts that makes the audience tickle. Definitely worth the $7.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this moment of time, it's about eighty minutes before 2008 comes to a close and a new chapter begins as 2009 arrives.
Like previous years, I don't feel anything special, just perceiving it as another ordinary day.

Been through a really turbulent year indeed.
The ill-effects of the global financial crisis will be long-lasting, the loss in investors' confidence will take years to completely recover.
Also, the terrorist attacks in Mumbai not too long ago is also a painful reminder that terrorism is a continuing threat and we must remain alert and vigilant to suspicious characters or objects at all times.

On to my personal life.
Well, much has changed since I was enlisted into the army; I've learnt many valuable lessons in life, like people skills, time and money management. Still struggling with the latter though - my POSBank account is pretty much squeezed dry now, with less than ten bucks in it. x.x

Happy 2009 to one and all, may the coming year be a peaceful and prosperous (?) one.
Signing off~

Backtracking to my first post way back in 2004, it's not difficult to see how my style of expression has changed over time, from naive and innocent, or even shallow if you choose to perceive it that way, to a slightly more mature perspective (Sometimes I'm still prone to making rash and generalised comments if you haven't already noticed).
To a large extent, I believe studying General Paper during junior college was the trigger that led to these changes and be able to better examine situations critically and objectively.

Anyways, I'd attended my relatives' chalet over the past two days at Downtown East, just two pix to sum up everything...

Basically it was pretty much a kids' affair.
Joined them on the night of Christmas eve, intended to go Kbox at midnight but the suites there were already fully booked (as expected).
In the end we rented DVDs to watch throughout the entire night; namely CJ7 and Get Smart (twice), the latter was really entertaining. Hottie and Nottie wasn't as good though, stopped playback after just 40 minutes.

The next day, which is Christmas itself, the majority went to Wild Wild Wet in the afternoon.
I didn't bring extra clothing so went to the arcade to watch around until 2.30, where I met my relatives at Streets cafe for high tea (and a really expensive one at it, too).
Returned home at night, around 9 plus as I've duty the next day and needed to sleep early.

Today was another uneventful day at the office, apart from going to the mess for another mini-karaoke session with my section commander.

That's about all for this update, cheers~

p.s. New Year's coming but I ain't looking forward to it at all. Hope I can level up one last time in Audi before 2009 arrives. D:

Show's over, and it's hard to drag myself back to reality.
The 'show' is none other than the Audi event at CyberEra today.

Honestly speaking, it was never going to be easy against the likes of expert players from CyberEra and Rename FAMs, but at least I didn't let myself down.
Managed full combos for all 4 beat up songs (as expected), but didn't activate double chance for the two level 3 ones.

Like I've mentioned before, participating in this event was mainly for exposure, didn't dare to dream about winning cause I knew that was never going to materialise with so many pros around. So yeah, looking forward to any Audi events in the near future~

Nearing the end of the dog course, with all the theory and practical assessments completed.
Including today, there were three nights out in just 11 days.
But today I chose to stay in camp instead.
What's the point of going outside when tomorrow you'll get to book out anyway?

Current agenda:

- Collect POP photos on behalf of section mates
- Move most of my barang barang back.
- Haircut
- Purchase insert for newly-issued sunglasses (collecting on 20/12 @ Bukit Panjang Plaza)
- Shopping for new clothes: postponed to mid January
- Final beat-up training for AuditionSEA before the competition @ CyberEra on Sunday. (guess that didn't really help)

Speaking of the competition, the registration fee has been reduced further to $5 (original: $8) and the deadline extended to this Saturday.
Oh wells. The keyboards there are better than Bunk in my opinion so didn't regret registering early.

Gotta have an early rest, more updates during the weekend~

I'm back. :D
Haven't been posting new entries for the past month, cause nothing out of the ordinary occurred that needed special mention.

Returned to camp for kennel washing in the morning. Went to Beach Road army market to buy additional insignias for my uniform after dismissal, following which I dropped by CyberEra LAN shop along East Coast Road for recce purposes (will be participating in Audi competition on the 14th).

Spent about four hours there, and now I've a dilemma between going to Bunk or CyberEra in the future. Let's analyse...

Bunk
- Advantages: More computers, approx 90+ of them, and also greater convenience due to its centralised location inside Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Customer service level of staff has improved compared to last time.
- Disadvantages: Computers may lag suddenly and you'll begin to whine non-stop about how that lag spoiled your full combo. Also, the atmosphere isn't very conducive due to the second generation of gamers that have taken over the place, their behaviour may get rowdy at times.

CyberEra
- Advantages: Who says less computers must be a negative point? Only 44 50+ computers available yet there is minimal lag. It is much easier to get a full combo for songs like 3254 Techno Party and Flying Duck. In addition, some of the staff here are also active Audi players. This common interest can help improve relations between the serving and the served.
- Disadvantages: Distance factor. Those living in the West and North regions would find it quite inconvenient to come over. Also there's no 30% bonus experience points as what Bunk has.

There's a consideration proportion of Audi players at both hotspots, so it's impossible to entirely give up either one. If taking into account distance from camp, perhaps I'd still visit Bunk as often and maybe add in one or two visits to CyberEra if time permits. (visiting the latter again tomorrow though)
