* lifesaving exam (22/11) .

well , i suppose the examiner was kinda lenient with this one .
the CPR on manikin component wasn't even tested .
and for the bronze medallion exam , he didn't believe in the initiative component as set out in the lifesaving manual .
he chose to test each of the six of us on how we would respond to real life situations that may potentially occur in the swimming pool .
on the whole , i guess i was very fortunate to be able to pass through every single component .
cause i made quite a number of mistakes , though not major errors .
plus my coach also said my response in initiative section wasn't clear enough .


* relative's birthday dinner (yesterday night) .

sort of transformed myself into a hungry ghost for this one .
three servings of rice plus another extra serving of noodles was the amount i consumed , which i admit was scary .
i still feel slightly bloated even till today .
man . i guess i shouldn't do this too often and take better care of my digestive system .


* today .

intended to go jogging to burn off the excessive calories from yesterday's dinner .
but rainy weather disrupted my plans eventually .
i also received a call from the employment agency i visited two fridays ago .
informing me that i have been offered a job at some retail outlet in hougang mall , which involves gift wrapping .
will have to pay another visit to the agency's premises at toa payoh HDB hub tomorrow at 1100 , to obtain more details about this job .
training on gift wrapping will be on the menu the day after , following work commencement from saturday .
implies that this job will last for exactly one month . nice .
i've also given my maplesea account to my maple gf , after much consideration .
it's like i won't have much time for games once i start work .
maple is really getting more boring by the day , and there isn't much precious stuff in my account to hack into anyway .

alrights .
going to retire for the day and prepare for tomorrow .

well , i'm back at last having survived the big 'A's .
but there's yet another exam standing in my way later today .
resuscitation (CPR) and bronze medallion exam , two in one .
both the theory and practical sections are equally daunting .
but most importantly , have to pass theory in order to move on .
sian .
this whole thing is gonna stretch from 4pm all the way to 9 plus .
(provided i can survive throughout the entire thing)



target for maplesea: lvl 120 by end of the year .

target for gunbound : at least double-sided axe by end of the year .

now that school exams are over , it's back to games once more .
you may say i'm childish , but yeah , i've returned to gunbound .
created a new account cause i forgot my old account's password .
i remembered playing up till silver battle axe+ for the old account .
then maplesea came out and i switched away from gunbound .
along the way i tried playing pangya and auditionsea as well .
current status : active in maple , audition and gunbound .
so yeah , it's hard to stay active in all three but i'll try my best .


survived this battle thanks to the help of my group members .

just ten more days and the entire ordeal will be over... not.
cause the day immediately after my last paper, 21 nov, is my lifesaving exam, which i'm quite sure i'm gonna fail.


This would be the procedure I'd always follow .

(1) Click on the link saying that I have __ secret admirers . (duh)




(2) Now I'm directed to a page with 12 users , among whom one of them is my secret admirer .




(3) Using the graphic calculator , I'll type in the function as shown below . This gives values of integers between 1 and 12 inclusive . Sometimes , I may judge based on the photos though .




(4) The rest from now on depends on luck (and some telepathy perhaps ?) . In this example , i managed to make a match at the final (fifth) guess . How nice .



And this is just evidence that it took me five attempts out of five to make the match .




geog paper 1 - 05/11 .

* challenging paper , both the DRQs and essays were not as straightforward as what i had thought would have been .
* some mistakes : i mentioned "pools" and "riffles" in the fieldwork sketch for braided channel , when those two features are actually related to meanders . also , i wasn't confident with my hydrology case studies and so i went on to attempt the essays for lithosphere and atmosphere . alas , how wrong my decision was as part (b) of the litho essay seems rather abstract and i didn't know how to bring in the relevant case studies . in the end i just plunked in some examples here and there . fortunately i managed to do the droughts essay quite well .


math paper 2 - 06/11 .

* too easy! although i wasn't able to complete the summation of series part of question 2 , i actually managed to complete the mathematical induction part that preceded it . it's like i never practised it for ages and i could still get it right . >.<
* some mistakes : didn't do the qualitative question on quota sampling (question 5) . plus i forgot to multiply answer by 2 for question 9 (ii) .
* because the paper was not as difficult as expected , the slightest mistakes will cost me an A or even B grade . i'd probably be content with a C grade for maths ...

next paper : the most dreaded of all - econs !! [on 13/11]
which means exactly a week's time to make the final dash in revision .


yesterday's paper: math paper 1 .

surprisingly , it was easier than expected .
the front five to six questions were standard fare .
but the challenge came in series and sequences (question 9) .
i didn't even know what the question was asking for .
and also the applications of differentiation (question 11) .
couldn't prove the equation after finding dy/dx .
but on the whole it's manageable . (:

next paper: geog paper 1 on 05/11 .


yesterday's paper : GP .

essay:

question attempted - "The view of the majority is always right. Do you agree?"
i think i fumbled this component of the paper .
cause i didn't bring in sufficient examples .
but there's still a silver lining .
this question wasn't done by the majority .
most candidates did another question on environment .

compre:

i felt this compre on gender revolution was quite easy even though most of my classmates and friends said it was tough . (false sense of security perhaps? o_O)
reasons ? the passage was accessible , plus the short questions were mostly literal , phrase and inferential .
lucky there wasn't any language device question .
hahas .
cause i didn't study language devices . >.<

up next: math paper 1 tomorrow .
i'm prepared to give up differential equations and most parts of vectors , plus some parts of complex numbers .
yeah .
so pure maths is pretty much screwed up already .
which means i'm gonna count on statistics if i even want to aim for a pass for math .
