couldn't get online during the past weekend, so apologies for not being able to publish my predictions of the World Cup final between Italy and France. but no point releasing that now. the match is long over. and Italy is crowned champions after defeating the French 5-3 on penalties (1-1 after extra time). and that infamous head-butt by retiring Zinedine Zidane cast a pall on his final international cap. perhaps he was provoked really badly prior to this incident, but that does not serve as a valid enough excuse. he should have controlled himself better there. i mean, it was already 110 minutes into the game and everybody's exhausted more or less, so why act spoiler? makes little sense to me. and tada! the World Cup is over not long after its arrival a month ago. time to get back to reality. speaking of that, i think my mid-year common test results will be really disappointing. they might even be worse than my most conservative aims. perhaps i was too optimistic. whatever. maths down (44%), physics down (41%). what's next? econs looks terribly bleak. if i could get 30% good enough alr. geog looks promising for our class initially, but we might be in for a hard landing. our PD tutor, miss huang, has told us ytd during civics that most of us would be down for extra lessons. oh dear. i hope i can pass this. so ironically, the remaining hope lies in none other than GP. though the elaboration in my essay wasn't that great, i believe my 4 points brought up should be strong and convincing enough to earn, say, at least 28/50? have to think this way for a simple reason. the situation now looks destined to be headed for FOUR failures out of five subjects, which is a massive tragedy. indeed, if only i spent less time on online gaming, things might hav turned out differently. but too late regretting it now. anyway, it's just the beginning. doing well in the end-of-yr promos will dispel any fear of getting retained. and to top it off with what many ppl would probably comment upon seeing this entry: easier said than done.
