hellos.

sort of lost the mood to blog now after visiting singapore exchange's site.

the benchmark STI has plunged by more than 86 points as of 3.10pm (-2.5%).
that is triggered in part by severe plunges in Chinese and Hong Kong stocks.
the Shanghai Composite has lost more than 235 points (-8%).
while the Hang Seng Index lost more than 381 points (-1.8%).
and there's still over an hour's trading to go.

wonder how bad this could get.
as i continue to refresh the SGX page, the STI's falls just continues to widen.
maybe by the end of this session, we could be seeing a 100-point drop?
that'll almost certainly make the headlines in tomorrow's papers. =/

dun blame me for being pessimistic though.
considering that the STI has jumped by more than 550 points in the space of 4 months (from 2,658 in mid-Oct '06 to 3,310 last Fri), it is only a matter of time for a sharp correction like this to happen!

the price-earnings ratios of many stocks are seriously over-valued.
and the market mood is ever so painfully over-buoyant, exacerbated by aggressive buying from institutional investors.
today's drop acts as a harsh reality check.
that the STI cannot stay at such high levels forever.

i may only be a student.
but i know the many dangers that arise with the surging of stocks.

my target level for STI at the end of 2007: 3,100.

this piece of breaking news aside, i wasted another weekend slacking.
didn't visit "that place" on sunday.
cuz the day after got math test on probability.
and the probability of failing this test?
90%.
even after i tried drawing out the tree diagram, i was still lost in space.
so wish me good luck man.

the STI's falls have exceeded 90 points.
at this point of time.

there's GP and physics double whammy this thurs.
hope i can at least pass both tests.
after this burden's cleared,
i can look forward to sat.
and be reunited with my online friends after THREE long weeks.

okies.
nothing much to talk abt at tis time.
won't be posting on a daily basis anymore.
i think i've divulged far too much abt my personal life.
will only blog if i've witnessed something out of the ordinary.
bye.
