mood indicator: listless.

i'm still feeling distraught over my relative's departure.
and that is not helped by family conflicts.

my parents rarely quarrel.
and when i say rarely, it's like only once in many months.
but my father got extremely infuriated two nights ago.
when the number on my relative's death cert came out as consolation prize in 4D and my mother forgot to buy it on his behalf.

things got pretty bad afterwards, as my mother had to spend that night in the living room as she got chased out of the master bedroom.
and until today, both parties are still having cold war.
haiz.
hope the storm will tide over soon.
there's little i can do to improve the situation anyway.

on a brighter note, a new laptop is coming my way (:
will be visiting hello! shop in compass pt tmr to clarify existing doubts regarding singnet's 10 mbps promotion before signing up.
$83 per month isn't a small amount.
plus, the contract runs for 30 months, not the usual 24.
and i didn't really want to add to my father's burden.
but he seemed to be quite comfortable with the offer.

some calculations on my part:

registration charge (one-time): $42 ;
subscription for 30 months: (83 x 1) + (84.53 x 29) = $2534.37
total charges: $2576.37
price of free lenovo Y300 notebook + integrated wireless modem: $2743
net profit/loss: +$166.63

[subscription charges include the 7% GST imposed from 1st july.]

which means subscribers of this plan stand to gain in the long run.
but it's important to clarify whether there are any hidden charges.
still, i can't wait for tmr to come.
cos getting a laptop is like an impossible dream come true to me.

next up, new phone~
my nokia 3200 has accompanied me for nearly three years.
and in three days' time, the contract will surpass 24 months.
it's a really long wait man.
i hope to get my dream phone as a birthday present.
which equates to a further two-month wait.
but i don't mind waiting.
in fact, i've already collaborated with one of my relatives' relative to get the N76 on the same day as her birthday coincides with mine.
let's hope this dream will also come true eventually.

i'm getting increasingly materialistic now.
this is really unlike me.
but there's this chinese proverb 好事成双.
ie. good things come in pairs.
so i guess i won't miss this opportunity to "upgrade" myself.

one week of the vacation has already slipped by.
my relative's funeral aside, most of the time i just chiong maple.
currently level 84, should be able to level by tmr nite.
then can wear kage liao.
also scrolled the remaining 2 slots for my white gaia cape ytd.
picked up a 70% cursed scroll for INT from ghost.
then i used it on the spot, and *brightness* it passed.
thank goodness.
after training i dropped by free market.
bought a 60% INT scroll, and it worked too.
end result: my cape has +6 INT.

okay, i know that's nothing to boast about.
but at least i passed majority of the scrolls.
and considering that i have very little luck in scrolling nowadays, that's a pretty great reprieve.

NAPFA remedial at 3pm later.
sian.
would alr have levelled away at home if not for this.
oh well.
i should be grateful that i can still train tonight.
i have to return to school tmr and the day after as well.
after which my schedule will be very freed up. (:

okay.
it's time to prepare for the remedial.
so i guess i'll have to stop here.
