In the space of one week, since the first H1N1 influenza case had been discovered in Singapore on May 27, the figure has swelled to 11. Meanwhile, the Government has been doing a wonderful job with respect to contact tracing, ensuring no close contacts of those infected, from family members to air passengers seated three rows front and back on the same flight as the infected, had been left out. This no-nonsense approach adopted, to minimise the collateral damage arising from the outbreak, should help to ease citizens' minds a little. --------------------------------------------------- Updates over the past week. - 30 May: Massive jam on Dunearn Road, 1100-1130hrs. The workers should have known better. I was on service 74, returning home after remedial training. About two stops after King Albert Park, traffic came to a total standstill. Initally, I'd thought there must have been a serious accident ahead. Turned out that wasn't the case. Maybe the road works were very urgent, hence had to be rushed on a weekend. BUT, the management should take timing of works into consideration as well. Sealing off two out of the three lanes on a city-bound trunk road that is Dunearn Rd, on late Saturday morning, wouldn't that cause great inconvenience to many?
No thanks to the works, I reached home more than 30mins late. Understandably tired, but I still had another appointment, to attend the IPP Financial Quotient game in town area. Relatively enjoyable, learnt quite a fair bit about managing investments and liabilities better. - 31 May: Rotted, stoned, whatever. For once, I decided to stay home and Maple instead, from 8am-10pm. Was helping to train my cousin's ice/lightning to 3rd job. - 2 June: 16% to Main. At the beginning of this month, I'd made a resolution to cut down visiting LAN shops to just twice a month, so this is one of the two times already. Met my Audi friend, Snow, at Redhill, after which we went to Vivo, Bugis, and then Illuma (spelling?) to window shop. Parted ways around 7pm, as she was going for her friends' chalet at Costa Sands in Downtown East. Since there was still abit of time, I went to amk Virtualand after dinner to train Audi for awhile. My 8key isn't good in the first place, and now even my 4key's deproving. Can't even hit 135bpm CFM consistently. ._. Fortuantely, was able to chain alot for certain songs, perf x12 for Whisung She's Beautiful and x9 for Audition Lie and that helped to lift my mood, but only just.. - Today: Half-day off. Nothing out of the ordinary, just that I coincidentally met my Prudential agent, Verlyn, at Bedok Interchange while going to the library to meet my friend.
